Mini Planes

I broke an iron of my cheap Japanese plane and I made mini planes out of the plane base.

One is a chisel plane and the main purpose I made it is to chamfer inside corners of a box or maybe a cabinet carcass.
The other one is a square shape but other than the shape, it's based on a coffin plane.

For the coffin plane, it's a long story but I put a brass sheet on the sole that I didn't plan at all and I know I messed up the screw head.

I can cut the chamfer with a regular chisel but this is easier to control!

The shaving from the coffin plane. Not that thin but it's good enough for now.

Great work.   Defective screw driver, not you.

Ron

The factory didn't index the screws when they cut the threads, bad QC!
These look really handy!

Only an issue with one of three screws...now I would more likely have 3 for 3 🙄
Very cool!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Thank you, guys! People are nice here. Haha, yes, probably the screw or the screw driver I used was defective:)

Very cute little gems. The chisel plane I reckon would be a nice addition to anyones plane collection.
