Sling Shots for 2 of the Grandson's, so far no complaints from the parrents as for trouble. Fun little project, kit was from PSI.

Thanks for looking and as always comments are always welcome.

Ron, thanks. The kits came with 15 small balls.

nice sling shot but wait until they start using rocks or ball bearings for ammo !!!!! 😬

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Pottz, thanks. Very true, parents may take them away. They are kids.

Another quick spindle turning project, fun to do, and the grandsons will enjoy using. PSI supplies, did they come with an insurance policy for windows?
OldTool, thanks. That is a good question. LOL.

I like glossy finish on your turnings

Ivan, thanks. If I can finish on the lathe, I do get a high polish on the finish.

classy, sweet!

I had a Whammo, but upgraded to a wrist rocket. Never broke a window. Fun fun fun, and ammo was easy to find, almost any small rock worked.
Kel, thanks. A fun turning project.

George, thanks. Yea, the grandkids are having fun.

I had one, surgical rubber tubing.  Uncle gave me a trash can half full of marbles, maybe 1,000.  Lots of fun, only one mishap, was shooting at a cousin about 100 meters away.  Missed him, hit his mom's new car.

I learned early on to check the surgical tubing daily. Getting a snap back from a broken tube at full draw kinda hurt!

Kids and projectile toys, what could go wrong?🤠
Splint I bet that would hurt. Back then I thought my Rocket was perfection, and I don't remember thinking about that tube breaking. I suppose it wouldn't hold such a warm spot in my heart if it had. Yeah what could go wrong. actually as a kid I had gone through the thinking process of where I was aiming long before with firearms. Just like swimming, I advocate getting them shooting at a young age, BUT it needs to be someone with respect for both life, and some degree of common sense.
Eric

Nice project. Pretty sure if I made one the parents would yell at me.

Agreed George!
Do it right and it becomes something that the kids can enjoy for a lifetime.
I'd add "right" and responsibly.

Right just means they hit what they are aiming at, and this describes a lot of these "shooter" A-holes, walking into schools, and other softly defended places and opening up.

Responsibly, goes on to bring in "life" and all things living, and your relationship with them, be they animal, or human. And then having respect for it. I may be way wrong, but my belief is these shooter a-holes lack that in any manner. I know one thing for sure, that "GUN" even if it is big black, and evil looking, NEVER shot anyone by itself, so to blame it, isn't the correct path to making this growing problem go away. People need to get fixed, or it will still be softly defended spots, but it will be baseball bats, knives, or something else that gives these defective people an advantage. I'll know this has changed when these pussies walk into a gun show, and start shooting.
Right and Responsible is pretty much just the way you should live life, and use any tool anyway…right?

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".
