Sheath for my Brades 419 kindling chopper

Life has been manic recently, but last night I couldn't stand it any longer and had to do something creative. I made a sheath for my Brades 419 kindling chopper out of some black Walpier Buttero 3mm thick leather. I used a 45 degree V-tool to carve two grooves down the middle of the leather so I could fold and glue up two 90 degree corners for the spine of the chopper. The end welt is skived to match the taper of the blade and the sheath is stitched with red 0.6mm tiger thread.

I still have to sharpen the chopper, but that will get done soon.

Click here to see a short video of the sheath.

Thanks for looking!

It came out great. The stitches look like they were made by a machine?
Nice - shop time can be good!
Fine looking.   Agree on the stitches.

Nice looking sheath, very nice work. Like TheWoodGuy, I noticed the stitching right away, nice and straight and even spacing.
Nice looking sheath! I haven’t gotten a lot of shop time lately either, and it’s definitely not great.

May you have the day you deserve!

Nice wrap. I tried sheaths aplenty during a knife swap a few years ago. I think I failed the course. :-(
Thanks guys. I appreciate it.
