Bird Feeder

My wife wanted a new bird feeder with a screen in the bottom so the seed could dry out if it got wet during the rain.
I made this one out of black locust, with mahogany pillars and a treated pine mounting base. The top is 12" in diameter and the lower plate is 10" with a 5" high space between them. All the pieces were turned on the wood lathe.

It is finished with Boiled Linseed Oil!

Looks very nice Jim, and I'm sure the birds are most appreciative.
Beautiful variation....definately design to consider.

Do you have any issues with squirrels? We gave up on our feeders as the squirrels were raiding them no matter the obstacles we tried.
