Lacewood box

This box was made several months ago.   Lacewood and Redheart.
Mr. Rick's dovetail artistry reminded me of it.   As I had done the end connections similar to his.
Mine were done on my router table using the Incra Ultra Jig, not hand cut.
Box size is 9" x 6" and 2 1/2" tall.  Wall thickness is 1/2".   The trays lift out of the box for easy access.
The top and bottom edges of the case are redheart over the lacewood.
Do not remember the finish used.
Box was confiscated by the wife for some of her items.

Good looking box! It doesn't matter if it's hand cut or machine cut as long as they are tight light like yours! Good job:)

No name noobie here

Love it Ron, the wood colors and how the lift seems to complement the DTs really make it special.
Lovely! I really like the lift - adds just the right contrast.
Very nice indeed Ron. I like it and understand why your wife snatched it! Love the lacewood.
Guess I'm not going to convince you to hand cut those Inlaid dovetails anytime soon! 🙂

Ron

You out did yourself!  This is exceptional work.

Thanks for the comments!

Very nice. Love the Lacewood. Hey, if the wife confiscates it, you know it's got to be good!
Ron did you create a cavity for that pull/knob to sit in?

Petey

Petey, yes a cut out the width of the lift, 3", 1" deep by 3/16 thick.   Glued in.

Mr. Rick's dovetail artistry reminded me of it.
Are they real dovetails or just a thick Sharpie?

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Really nice contrast with the dovetails and the lid details.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".
