Polka Dot Snowman

This one took a while, but I think it’s my fave. The body is cherry and the hat is osage orange. The nose is padauk and the base is walnut.

Drilling the holes in the hat was a pain. Every time I started a hole the wood chipped a little. At first I had to go through each consecutive bit to get to the size I wanted. I ended up using a countersink bit first, only to the approximate size of the eventual hole. That helped to prevent the chipping so I was able to use just the one bit.

Very cool…

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Thanks Steve.
