This one took a while, but I think it’s my fave. The body is cherry and the hat is osage orange. The nose is padauk and the base is walnut.
Drilling the holes in the hat was a pain. Every time I started a hole the wood chipped a little. At first I had to go through each consecutive bit to get to the size I wanted. I ended up using a countersink bit first, only to the approximate size of the eventual hole. That helped to prevent the chipping so I was able to use just the one bit.
