I saw all these great pens made by other members here. I’d like to make some but I don’t have a lathe yet. So I decided to make something that holds them.
I used some scraps to make this. The top is mahogany and I’m not sure the what the bottom piece is. I think it’s Brazilian teak. What ever that is. This was a really fun project and it was really made by a duck. You can tell by the photos. Drilling the pen holders at an angle. After I routed out the slot that holds the bird food I drilled the holes to screw on the top part. Screwing in some stainless steel screws that holds the bottom to the top. Spraying on several coats of shellac. Sanding between coats of shellac. Self portrait. Quack!
