Arts & Crafts Cabinet

Have had the cabinet on my todo list for a few years.   The inspiration is from Wood Magazine Oct. 2014 edition.   Finally got around to doing it.
The cabinet is made of Quartersawn White Oak with the inlay accents being Walnut and mystery red colored wood from cutoff bin.    Did not take a picture of the inlay with finish on it, it turned out fine.
56" tall x 33" wide x 12" deep.   All pieces are 3/4" thick except the back which is QSWO veneer on 1/4" ply.
3 shelves aligned with the door panels.   Top and bottom joined to sides with 1/2 sliding dovetails.   Door joints are mortise and tenons. Each panel of  the door glass is 8" x 10" held in place with 1/4" x 1/4" glass stops attached with 23 gauge pin nails.
Finish is General Finishes products.   One coat of Seal-A-Cell, one coat of American Oak Gel Stain, and then 2 coats of Arm-R-Seal Gloss.
Hardware of hinges, magnetic latches and pull from Lee Valley.
Larger project size made finish and construction a bit more involved.

Classy Ron!

You really went to town with the sliding DTs, paned door, and inlay.
A project that is a relief when finished, but is satisfying to look back on the build.

Wow Ron, you are really raising the bar with this one. Sure to become an heirloom.

Gorgeous! There are so many designs details (inlay, sliding dovetail, etc) that bring this to a top level project. You'll smile each time you walk by!
Nice job Ron. Just be careful, a big owl has landed on the top.
Thanks for the comments.   The big owl has dog biscuits.    So does the jar, different kind.   Bribes and rewards for Hank.
