I play with my scroll saw while waiting for bowls to dry. Just trying to figure out how I can incorporate these into bowls. Being a United States Marine Vet myself. I will have a lot of Marine friends buy my bowls.

Oohrah, brother! How awesome would it be to fit this into one side of a bowl blank? Or the bottom? Either way, the level of awesome would be out-effing-standing.
Losing fingers since 1969
Thinking maybe using a bloodwood paste to fill it then put in a bowl base.
