Made from red oak. 1 1/2" thick 12" round four compartment. Soaked in food safe mineral oil. then hot polished with bee’s wax and mineral oil mix. Of which i make and sell in 4 oz containers.

This style of bowl is the better one.
Oak is a very hard wood and after so many splinters I stopped using it.

I personally don’t get to much splintering with red oak. I find all the issues with Hickory. Now theres a wood that will and can frustrate a person.

Im going to try and make walnut/maple combos, cherry maybe mahogany
