Small Bowl in Pear wood

Such a sweet little bowl, and I love this wood. I don’t know the type of pear, but it was from a yard tree in the midwest somewhere. Excellent to work with, takes fine detail in the cutting, and polishes up beautifully. This one is 4-1/4" in diameter and about 3" high.

Thanks Mike. I really love experimenting with different woods.

Love it. love the color and shape. Bartlett and Concorde are the most common in the midwest that people grow in their yards

Thanks all! Many people have asked the variety of pear, but the seller did not know, so I hate to say one way or the other. I’d never heard of Concorde, but Bartlett fruit trees are what we have here in abundance. I should finagle a tree trunk off some orchardist and compare them.
