Aged Cedar Sectional Bowl

A few years back a buddy of mine brought me a bunch of 1 " X 4 " boards painted white on one side used for Pavilion trim . I used a lot of it to trim some of my buildings . Then one day I wanted to make a bowl , so I thought why not , checked it for nails and ran about 3 pcs through the planner . Boy was I surprised at what came out the other end . I is like a light golden color and reminds me of Mahogany . The last picture is one made out of new cedar .

That was a nice surprise.

Did your planer blades take a hit from the painted wood?

Another huge amount of preparation even before starting to turn, well done. Very nice piece even with the challenges. Great skill.

You have become one of the few masters of his craft I love to see projects from. I wish I had half the talent you have. Sorry for all your health troubles, read your bio, but, you seem to handle it quite well. Good on you and for you. May God bless you.
