Wedding Keep Sake/Card Box #2

Have another young friend getting married, a young man that worked for us, here at The SnK Wildlife Reserve. Shane learned some woodworking while here, and also did some Mesquite clearing for us, as well as paint and bodywork, and a myriad of other things.

The woodworking included helping build a hot tub house, from the foundation up, including the finish out. We trimmed the interior with Knotty Pine, so I had to use some knotty pine in this piece. Shane also helped build the AC unit surround, in the hot tub house, also made from knotty pine. Since he cleared a bunch of Mesquite, both here and at his folks’ place, I chose Mesquite for the raised panel lid insert.

Shane started working for us while a Senior in high school (2010) and he was not the normal teenager. Shane would work MY butt off, and do anything we asked, spending hours on the tractor shredding and many other dusty and hot tasks. Shane did all the stuff that I couldn’t do at the time.

Now he’s grown up, kind of, and is getting married tomorrow. (July 18, 2015) I wonder if I should share, with his new bride, all that Shane is able to do. :-) Well, she’ll probably have plenty for him to do, without my spilling the beans.
