Back out in the “Wood Shop,” and actually doing some wood working. I’m making two Coin/Key trays, for my Son, and my Son in Law.
The “Rim” is Oak, with the “Bottom” 1/4" Aircraft Grade Mahogany. The “Rim” is cut on the table saw, with the inner bevel done before mitering and gluing up, the outer bevel is done after the glue up.
This is the first/prototype, as I’ve never done this before. I think it turned out pretty good. The Wife and Daughter like it, so far. Gonna get clear and some felt “feet.”
The photos don’t show the inner bevel, so I threw a drawing together, to help clarify.

Thank you, sir.

Second tray is cut and sanded. Now, wait for warmer temps to spray the clear.

Finished the two trays. Got the Poly Clear sprayed yesterday. Sure enjoyed trying a new technique, and I think they turned out simple, but nice.
