Thanks, all!
Nice Job! So what is the ‘guts’ of this dispenser? I want to build one for a gift. My friend is retiring and this will be perfect with is favorite Crown Maple in it!
Thanks for your help!
Darn, I just had to delete all the photos off my phone. Ill see if I can find one on my laptop. I used one of those chrome pourspouts like a bar uses and attached clear aquarium type hose. You have to get smaller hose to put on the vent of the liquor dispenser tip, so it can vent without leaking when turned upsidedown.
Thats exactly what I was wondering about, the venting… any help you could give would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for the quick reply and the cool project. Ill post mine when I am done!
Could I get some more info on the guts
A picture would be great
Not sure what to use and how to vent
Hey Sparky…. I have not built one of these yet, but I think from what Maderhausen said, you get one of these, http://www.amazon.com/JBtek-Stainless-Classic-Pourers-Tapered/dp/B00OFOKTEE?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_5&smid=A28RI4FXFS5SV8
and attach a small vinyl tube that goes into the bottle and extends above the level of the liquid so it vents but wont leak. You use a larger sized tube on the pour spout and attach it to the spigot. That part may need to be more creative, but the plumbing department of a home store will be able to assist in making that connection. Is that about right Maderhausen?
Sorry for the delay. Here’s what I used.
Thanks man, nice work!
I made one similar to this and extended the vent with a piece of tubing as you suggest but the vent is still weeping when the bottle is inverted. In the picture of the vent tubing it looks like you added something to the end of it. Do you have any suggestions to fix this? Thanks for the great project.
Thanks! I didn’t add anything, but still have that trouble as well. Had more pressing projects, getting back to that one soon!
I sent out a couple questions but I loved this project great gift for my dad. i started on the plumbing and ran into some vent issues. anyone corrected this.
is that pourer mounted to the top or is it lose in thebox if mounted how is that done
where did you find that small vinyl tube. I cant find the size that is food graded rated ? THanks
