Arrowhead Cremation Urn
The cremation urn is based on an actual arrowhead. The urn is made from mahogany and black
walnut to simulate the two colors of the original arrowhead. The size of the urn is approximately 10” x 6” x 11 inches.

I designed the arrowhead in Aspire software. I first cut a smooth domed arrowhead shape and then carved the
the texture using my CNC machine. The base of the urn is composed of 10 layers, each approximately 1” thick. To aid in alignment while gluing the layers together I drilled holes in each layer and used dowels to align
the layers while gluing. The dowels and a large number of clamps made the assembly straightforward. The urn is finished with three coats of rub on poly and one coat of wax.
