Convergent and Divergent Ripples #1

Convergent and Divergent Ripples #1 is an example of a modern wall sculpture I designed using parametric equations that captures the convergence and divergence of waves so often found in nature. As can be seen in the images, several waves or ripples originate on the left hand side of the sculpture, smoothly converge together in the center and once again diverge on the right hand side of the sculpture.

The South American Mahogany I used in this piece was carefully hand sanded and finished with a coat of high quality hand rubbed wax.

The carving is approximately 10″ × 10″ × 1 3/8".
