I’m sure if your on facebook, YouTube or any other social media sites, you’ve heard of the ice bucket challenge. If not, this is a challenge where you dump a bucket of ice water on your head, and challenge others to donate to charity and complete the challenge, as well as challenge others to do the same. It’s taken social media by storm and has morphed into the Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS. Not sure when that happened, but since my father suffers from this horrible disease, I have no problem with that at all. Anyway, Inspired by the challenge, and the other woodworkers here and elsewhere, I decided to build a few items and auction them off, donating 100% to the Robert Packard Center for ALS at Johns Hopkins. I know the ALS Association has received a huge increase in donations over the last few weeks, so I wanted to donate elsewhere.
Enough about that. The breadboard / oil dipping board is made from Maple, Padauk and Sapele. The cheese board is made from a small piece of figured maple, and the spreader from birds-eye Maple. The Caddy is made from Padauk.
