A teacher at the school my son attends needed some bookcases this year. Since the teachers have to buy their own stuff, she was going to buy some made by Sauder that were smaller and made of veneer covered particle board. Instead, I made these for her from baltic birch plywood. To get the color she wanted, I used general finishes dark brown dye, topped with GF Georgian Cherry gel stain, then clear gloss lacquer. Staining BB plywood is a pain, but I think the gel evened out the tone enough to be acceptable.
Thanks for looking, and have a great day!
They look graet and the finish looks excellent. I can’t believe that the teachers must buy furnishings for the school but at least you got her something proper for her outlay.

Thanks for making those shelves. (Dad was a teacher, and I know how important that stuff is. Yep. He had to buy lots of stuff himself.)
I bought a lot desks and bookshelf from Sauder. They help well until I moved…
Yours will hole much longer, I am sure.

Looks great. The BB usually is a pain to work with in darker colours but these look great, I’m sure she will love them and use them for ever.
