A simple box made of mango wood and some raw sort of carving to give it a look which his inspired a little unique antique style

Very creative carving. I would love to try carving in mango wood, how hard is it? Does it take stain well or is it close grained?

The carving is nicely done.
I am also curious about mango wood. I guzzled a lot of mangoes growing up but never worked mango wood:)
