HYPOTENUSE TURNING

Turning a cylindrical shape is a basic turning, but once I was looking for a new idea and this one came to my mind. I mounted the log HYPOTENUSE way between two centers to expose the inside of the log, as in photo 1. Simply, if you turn the log horizontally, you will get the color of the layer you reach and by using the new way, you will have all the layer colors. At that time I was turning a candle and it came, beautifully, looking like mixed colored wax.
NOTE: If you want to try this, work on both ends equally to stabilize the log.

THE TIME YOU ENJOY WASTING IS NOT WASTED TIME.

Sam,

This is a very clever turning technique. Thanks for the warning on how to turn it. The candle stand turned out really nice.
