PICNIC BASKET

This is an older project but was one of the more challenging designs I have done and I thought I would share it .
I developed a picnic basket that also had to serve as an eating table of sorts and also carry everything from food and wine to plates and glasses .
The centre compartment is large enough to contain all mentioned above and when open the side panels of the centre compartment simply slip into ledgers in the wings and become the table ,the upper level is a cutting board for just in case .
My biggest concern was the weight but using spruce plywood and a open weave for the wings I managed to keep the weight down to an acceptable level .

I wonder where you get all your ideas from…

This is neat.
Two functions in one:)

A very well planned picnic ensemble Klaus. I approve of the wine as well. I haven’t seen Mateus in years but it was once a favourite of mine.

The early bird gets the worm but its the second mouse that gets the cheese.

Ideas just happen because I seldom accept that something can’t be done and I like a challenge but have to admit not all my ideas work but I like to try .
This one worked out great .
Does that make sense ?
