I began making framed mirrors for my nieces and nephew for their wedding gift. The design has evolved from a one with fairly simple carving to more ornate and personalized details and a common story regarding the key to a successful marriage wood burned on the back.
Across the top is carved ‘commitment’ and the top corners are intertwined wedding bands and crosses to remind them of their commitment to God and each other. Across the bottom is the family name and their initials in the corners. The sides have had flowers or ancanthus leaves.

White oak isn’t the easiest wood to carve, but you a great job with it.
