My Drill Press

I saw the beautiful drill press setup that Earl posted.  I thought that I would post my setup for my Nova Voyager DVR.

The table is double layers of some kind of chip board with Ash edging and is finished with shellac. The center has a replaceable insert.  If I had to do over, I would use a round insert offset from the center.  I have t tracks for the fence and hold downs.  There is a magnetic LED light and flexible hose for dust collection.

The three drawer cabinet under the table just sits on the base.  It's not as pretty as Earl's but very useful.

Even with the 6" stroke, I would need to adjust the table at times and I  hate doing that so I made some 2-3" thick blocks to use.

I saw a nice utility shelf that mounts to the column and though about buying one but I have lots of scraps and made one.  It helps keep bits and pieces that I am using the from being lost. It has two round shelves so I can switch them out.  One has magnets underneath and I will see how that works.

Nicely done! That’s a great drill press too!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

great setup birds.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Nice!

I'm still with an original round table and no DC, but I'm making do.
I see a bunch of future ideas though!
That’s a nice setup. Looking at this and Earls makes me think I need  to step up my game.

I’m a bit of a slacker I’m afraid, pretty much as it was in 2013 when I bought it.

I resemble this Dan! Makes me not feel so bad.
In retrospect, I wish I had went with the Voyager.  I very quickly realized how nice it would be to have the ability to move the table all the way down to the floor.  Plus, the Voyager has some other features the Viking doesn't have.

Don't feel bad.  It took me something like 3+ years to finish the base cabinet and table for my Viking.  I came up with a lot of changes and improvements along the way and I still threw an entire, completed table in the trash.
Thanks for the kind comments.  Interesting, I think I have only used the full height one time.  But, the Voyager DVR has some extra features.
My Voyager sits beside my Craftsman floor model Radial  dp  -  notice the 'custom' bit holder on the Radial ?

and I posted earlier about my 'custom' crank on the voyager and the well thought out clamp apparatus for the Voyager table fence.  Sorry guys, I just don't have a pretty shop  -  probably never will.
