Difficulties entering a project on this site.

Maybe it's just me, but I have a miserable time attempting to enter a project on this site. The problem I experience is the continuous loss of all input, text and photos, when I open a second tab to secure a link, or search for a photo, only to return to the project tab to find ALL information GONE.
I'm on my 4th attempt to enter my most recent build, have two web addresses I want to copy and paste, and hours of work is shot in the buttocks upon returning to the project entry page.
Why information is lost, or not at least "Saved as a draft" is frustrating.

I have also tried minimizing the project entry, opened a different browser to secure a web address, with the results, loss of everything.

Can anyone shed light on this? Maybe it'll assist me in maintaining my temper and sanity.

Thanks

stay cool OT. ive never had those issues so not sure whats going on with your problems. id suggest contacting martin and explain what your having to deal with. maybe it's something he can fix ? ive always posted projects with no issues. even moving old ones from that other place.

I can’t shed any light on why those things happened, but I can make a suggestion… write your project description in Word, Notepad, Notes, or any equivalent. When you’re done, copy/paste the text into the “new project page here,” insert any embedded photos (adding placeholder text in the description makes it easier to know where to place the photos is a big help), and then post the project.

I’ve learned to do this any time I enter a non-trivial amount of text into any web page form. It’s too easy to end up losing everything, as you described.
Like the others, I've not had that problem but when I am typing up a long one, I usually type it up somewhere else and then paste it into Craftisian once I am down to final revisions and attaching photos.

What browser are you using?  You might check the browser settings and make sure that there is not one set to refresh the page after a certain amount of time.

Great suggestions guys, the text in MS Word then copy and paste here, really great thinking. This is going to save my sanity. I think even copy and paste here with photos will work. I'm going to try that.
Happy Woodworking all.
I write my projects on write.as now, then copy-paste and all the images come over automagically. I’m using an iPad, so I would get pages reloading in the middle or such.

May you have the day you deserve!

Another benefit of creating content locally and then pasting it here is you cal always have a back up copy. A previous site managed to mess up all my blogs and I didn't have a copy locally. Fortunately I was able to recover them and now I have a local copy.
I've had the same thing happen (content lost) so for projects I write them somewhere else (Word, or an email to myself) and then cut and paste, adding links and pictures carefully so as not to have to start over.
i dont get all the issues you guys are talking about ? i post everything right here with pic's and have never had an issue !

I too have had a few entries that went poof, probably my fault. So now if I am doing anything big enough that I don't want to be disappointed. I type all the text, even the photo descriptions out on a word doc. The I just copy and paste that in, and then drop the pics where I want them. Doing it that way, I have never had it go poof, while midway through.
I recall many times in the "other" forum that that exact same thing happened. I started doing the local write then past into the web page.
Never an issue here thankfully!
Thank all you guys for the responses, very helpful. I'm in the middle of writing up the next build in Word, will copy and paste.
Thanks again, very much appreciated.
Tom.
i did have some issues at that other place though.

Well guys, it must be me because every time I try the copy and paste to enter data in my new project, I get the error message: "Only JPG and PNG images less than 5 MB can be pasted in Craftisian."
I first tried text and images, then just text, even just the first two paragraphs, always the same results.

I need to set this aside for awhile, let my brain settle down, and try again later. If I discover something pertinent to the topic, I'll post.
Thanks.

When I get that must be less than 5MB error, I simply open the photo in windows, click edit, do a slight crop and then save it as a jpg file.  That will usually shrink the file considerably and Craftisian will let me upload it.
