No Shop for 10 Weeks - Update

I am sitting in a hospital bed waiting to run tests.  On Tuesday, they operate on my left foot due to something called Charcot which is a collapse of the bones in my feet.  I will get screws and plates and will be non weight bearing for 10 weeks.  This sucks but my foot will.be better.

I had my foot surgery April14...about two weeks ago.  It was a long surgery almost 5 hours.  It has been tough being non weight bearing on left foot.  I am using a knee scooter to get around some.  Recovery from surgery was long and in hospital six days. Thank God for my wonderful wife taking care of me and pushing me to do things.

I lust after the projects being posted and can not wait to get back to the shoo in eight weeks or so...My foot resting on knee scooter.

Ouch!
Hope for a quick return BE, mobility restrictions are always a bummer, especially for the walking bits.
Oh man, feet are a tough one to heal. Best of luck and listen to your docs! Failure to follow recommendations just leads to longer recovery times!!

Praying for a successful surgery and strength and patience with the recovery.
Hoping things went well, or will go well. Not sure of your surgical time.

I've been mostly out of my shop for way too long. Went in the hospital a year ago last August, got out of the rehab center in seems like not that long ago, but I think it was April or May following. Since it's been one thing or another. This older and wiser crap isn't what I imagined. Getting my pay back for all those years when I said I'd sleep when I was dead, and rode my body like a rented Donkey, all while smoking like a chimney. Never had any issues when I was younger. What they say is true, it's accumulative. Our past sins come to haunt us when we are least able to fight it off.
My surgery is around 1pm or about 2-3 hours and is supposed to take 4ish hours.  Hope they have good drugs.  Waiting is terrible!!!
The worst thing in my mind is the waiting room and 2 year old back issues of "People" magazine....

Best wishes!
Hopefully the operation was successful. Wishing you strength for the coming weeks.

Best of luck with rehab, and all that follows. Feet are a pain, literally, all your weight, they flex when you walk. If they hurt, everything hurts, but you already know this from having the problem.
