Do You Do Anything With Your Old Office Chair Bases

As the title indicates, just seeing what others do, or would do, with their office chair bases.

Since they are pretty stable, roll well and will hold a lot of weight, it seems a shame to just trash them. And I find the casters of little value for other than chair bases.

Currently, three of my old chair bases have jobs:

(1) First built was, my lathe knife rack.

I added a top, which provides another horizontal storage space for lathe related this-es and that-ses.

(2) Second built was my welding equipment station;

(3) Third is my knife sharpening station. It holds three different sharpeners. One in a box.
Good thinking Kelly!
I have several that I have saved, but not put to use yet.
well done !

Looks like a win. Usually when an office chair nears retirement I move it out to the shop as an office, shop bench/chair, and it stays there until I'm scared to sit on it anymore. Then I just leave it out at the road, and by the next morning POOF it has magically disappeared, picked up by the grim reapers. You've seen them, you just didn't know who they were.

Great repurposing!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Great ideas Kelly!

Good idea... but damn it, you're 1 week too late, just put an old leather chair on the nature strip for anyone to take,

It was gone the next morning.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

[It's okay, I'm over that now.]
hate to admit but thats what i do also 😞
