With the prototype complete, I assembled the remaining two lamps.
The bottom cover for each lamp will have a unique design. I asked my daughter what she'd like to see on one of them, and she suggested a hummingbird. I found a silhouette image online, created vectors to outline the components, and played around with the curves so that it could be cut out with a 1/32" end mill (the smallest I've got). I was happy with the results and so was my niece.
It needs a bit of cleanup of the fuzzies before finishing.
For the final cover plate I chose an "atomic" cat (since we're a cat house).
And some final test lighting in the workshop before they're ready to be installed. The magnets hold the the plates in place and automatically center them in the opening.

Those are really nice looking. Anigre is another one of my favorites. Used to use it quit a bit, but haven't in a while. Your project put it back on my radar, thanks. Looking forward to seeing them hung and working. Nice blog.
Figuring out how to do something you have never done is what makes a good challenge.
