The glue-up was easier than it is for most projects. It involved gluing the sides and center assembly to the top and bottom panel.
I had a few tense moments where the top didn’t want to seat (I think because the tops of the back panels were a bit snug in the top panel’s groove), but I was able to force it into place by tightening the clamps.
After the glue dried, I applied finish to the top.
The last step for the case was installing the legs. I didn’t want to flip the case upside down and risk marring the newly finished top, so I placed the case on its back. That meant it would be difficult to hold the legs in place and use a Vix bit to drill the screw holes. I made a simple drilling jig that inset the legs’ mounting plates by 1/8”, drilled the holes, and attached the legs.
With that done, the case was complete, and I could move on to the doors and drawers.
