Walnut, Maple and Cherry

My biggest one to date, double the size of most I’ve made (in area) and considerably more massive. The first with (or even needing) handles on the side to help pick up this beautiful beast. Appx 12.375 x 20, 1.375 thick - finished with my homemade wood butter blend of beeswax and mineral oil.

Try as I might, to knock out these cutting boards on the fly, (with whatever scrap seems to be accumulating the most) I never seem to be able to. This one was no exception. I spent quite some time arranging/rearranging. Ripping new strips, book-matching pieces. leaving. coming back. adding, subtracting…. and just waiting for it to look and feel just right.

I’m very happy with how it came out. I’m also extremely happy it’s sold, shipped, happily received, showed off to their friends and family, already put to good use and ready for a lifetime of service.
