ive seen these sleds here a few different times and always intended to make one and finally here it is.got this version from lj lou who got his from lj geekwoodworker who got it from shop notes.mine is pretty much the same as lou's with a few miner tweeks.the sled is 4' long by 14" wide,i have a 15" planer so make yours to suit.made from shop scraps except for the 1/4" mdf used for the sled.im not going to go into details because others have already done that.when not in use I will just hang it on the wall behind the planer.cant wait to put it to use saving twisted boards. This is a link to garage wood workers how to video which will give you all you need to make one.

this is especially for kenny,he loves shop jigs and accessories.

I built one of those too, from the same YouTube video. Yours is a little prettier than mine.

I don't use it a lot, but it does come in handy every now and then.
I never posted mine on LJs pottz but it looks pretty much exactly like yours :-)
Larry that thing is terrible!!!  Send it to me and I'll use it so it doesn't hurt someone....LOL.....I am jealous!   I need to build one and that one looks like the one to build...good job

Nor did I... probably because I haven't built one... yet...

Still, great design and good job on it pottzy... looks like another handy SketchUp project for me.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Love it pottz! Looks like my 3D printer could come in handy to make some of the parts needed.
thanks guys. thats a great sled very adjustable to pretty much any shape.sure beats trying to use wedges.

Looks great! Bigger than I thought it would be…

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

you can make it as small or big as needed. i thought anything over 4 feet would just be too much for a sled like this.

kenny mine said, thats all you got.i said,it satisfies me just fine !

Slick job Pottz. you can also take the twist out with a good hand plane, say a #8.

That’s what she said

I think we've all suffered that cold spoon statement.

You know there are a few folks that still use them. I have my collection started but missing a #8. Have #4 thru #7, up next in the future is a till to hold them.

Hmmm a sled for a planer?  Pottz what do use it for that you can't do without it?

It looks really well built.  I'm just wondering why you need it.

I will check out the video

Mine is 6’ and on a couple of occasions I’ve wished it was 8’.  I’m also not happy with some of the thumb nuts that tend to stick at times.  So I may be due for a Mk.2 one of these days.
thanks guys.i used to do a lot of live edge stuff and they were not always what you say real flat. this will adjust very well to any twists in a board.

6' kenny,thats getting out there.and 8' i dont know ?
