Project Information
here is my bowling swap project and a couple bonus items i made.the bowl is mahogany on the bottom, maple burl center and cherry on the top.there was a small void i filled with turquiose, and a ring of tuquoise around the top.the size i forgot, you'll have to ask keebler on that.the bowl is finished with 6 coats of GF bowl finish and a final coat of wax.the bonus items are a bottle stopper made from thuya burl from morocco. turns like hard butter but almost impossible to sand.clogs paper in a minute so i just burnish the wood.the last bonus was a majestic pen with swarovski crystal on the clip, one of my fav's.wood is unknown. this was a fun swap to do and i encourage all you guys or gals to join one.

Yay... not a slimline!  Nice shaped bowl for a haircut template.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Sigh. I miss bowling (as a sport)
 Nice stuff Pottz.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Ahh bowling, a sport of aggression!

Where else can you fling a 16 lb. cannon ball at a group of filthy penguins with bonus points for knocking them all over?
Been years since I have been bowling, used to bowl on leagues and in torments.

I'd have to go get the ball out of the trunk. I think I was throwing 13lb. Pandemic hit, bowling alley closed. Haven't been outside since (metaphorically).
Great looking bowl. The turquoise and that burl on the same bowl makes everything stand out nicely. Excellent job.  Mike
thanks mike, i was very nervous on that one.but as said, the swaps push you out of your comfort zone.

Hey Pottz, those black/dark highlights at the junction of the wood types on the outside of the bowl…how’s you do those? Burned? Stained?

Nice bowl and stopper.

Did anyone else watch bowling for dollars on tv?

Had a NJ meal yesterday.  Taylor ham, egg & cheese on a roll, hash brown pile the size of a bowling ball.

i just cut a small groove then use a wire to burn a dark line for seperation of the woods.
