Photo Heart Locket

I have made several of these photo hearts and this one is special as I added a monogram to the front of the heart and brass pockets for the photos. This one is for my son in law mothers birthday with two memorable photos. The heart is kept closed with two hidden magnets.

The heart is made from four pieces of 1/8" walnut identically cut into the basic heart shape :
1. The front piece was machined for the monogram inlay.
2. The next piece was cut for a 5/16" diameter x 1/16" thick magnet, the brass photo pocket on the reverse side and the snap pocket.
3. This piece is a duplicate of the previous.
4. The back piece was cut to hold the chain clip.

Assembly:
Glue the magnet into piece 2, and glue that to the piece 1.
Repeat this for pieces 3 and 4.
Glue the male and female snaps in place on pieces 2 and 3.
Glue the monogram in piece 1.
Snap the heart together, sand, sand, and apply three coats of lacquer.
Epoxy the chain clip.
Super glue the photos.
