Bee Hives

A couple of beehives as requested by a grandson.    Interesting project as I had seen hives from the road but never learned about making honey.    An opportunity to use my box jig.    I think it turned out 'good enough' or at least it will look ok from the road which is about a mile away.    I had someone do the sheet metal as I have no interest, equipment or knowledge of that trade.
If interested you tube has plenty of advice under Langstruth Beehives

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

No it is just empty for now,  He has to assemble to frames that hang inside and figure out the rest of the details,   there seems to be (bee) more to this that I had ever considered.

Looks like they are off to a good start!
Man I love bees. Good looking boxes!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

See my signature line.
Is them being white important?

No Bees. No Honey. Bees Lives Matter

From what I read the white is to reflect sunlight and help keep them cool in the summer,,    I'm not a beekeeper so only know what I see on Google.   Do you have bees?

Albert

Wuz gonna say, not many bees and pollen in the workshop (well most).

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Not yet, Sir.  Fixing to, well, the Wife is fixing to arrange all the "Parts" so I can do all the "Work" part.
That is why I asked, sort of in the research phase at present.
