Small bowl w/Diamond Design
I made this small segmented bowl with a feature ring. I'm not sure how others do this, but this is the way I created the pattern. I made a stick of the diamond design by cutting two 45º cuts in a piece of walnut. Then I milled a square section of the other wood (not sure what it is) and sandwiched everything together to get the pattern. I cut all the segments of the feature ring the same size and then shortened every other one and glued on the patterned pieces. They obviously only show on the outside. The hardest part was making sure all the diamond pieces were centered top and bottom, and side to side.

Nice! I like how you camouflaged the interior so you didn’t see some weird half-design remanent from the diamond feature. I’ll need to remember that.

A nice shape on the bowl and the diamond turned out great. I learned something seeing this. Thanks for sharing and well done.
