I really like the "box corbels" you install in the corners, Great way to handle those pesky alignment and style issues.
I tried something similar on the LR ceiling about 20 years ago, certainly don't want to try it again!

I always seem to be late to the party!  You certainly turned that into one lavish room!  We're so glad they didn't want it painted ;-).  The alder looks so rich.  And your workmanship, as always, is impeccable.
