Floating shelf

Made this floating shelf for my son so he had a place to put his completed Lego's and store some of his other stuff. The wood was from his old bed frame. The corners are lock miters . Since he's a big Star Wars fan I put on Star Wars pulls.

That is a cool shelf, and bigger than most floating shelves that I have seen.

Nice with keeping the grain flow across the front.
I bet your son is really happy with this!
Thanks, he liked it for about 10 mins. Steve.  It was full by then.
Nice job!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Nice job w the grain.

Drawers and front look great together, nice planning and work.

I need to do a lot of stuff like this for my son and his room. He's getting buried in Lego, especially with the latest Christmas haul. He likes to display, but also needs a lot of loose storage.

🤣 Sounds like my kid.
nice work bud.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

A man with a few alias's on that other site gave me a tip for floating shelves to help with the sag. Cut it on a slight angle.

Thanks for the comments guys. Ron there wasn't much planning if there was it would of went faster.
Like some jokes... above my head...

👍,🦆....

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Lot of nice touches with it Corelz.
Knobs are cool,  as said above, the matching of the grain,
but what touch I like the best is the recessed top leaving a nice lip to keep everything corralled within.
Wondering about the angled back tip,  did it help?

Figuring out how to do something you have never done is what makes a good challenge.

That came out nice!
