dogs toy box

Project Information
a simple box the wife wanted to keep all the dogs toys in, although they never seem to stay in there very long. i think we need to teach her to put em back. made from scrap cherry with a melamine bottom. rubber bumpers to slow down the rearranging she like to do. a couple coats of maloof oil for the finish. letters were routed out using the rockler state parks sign kit 1-1/2". corners were dovetailed using the porter cable jig. a quick two day project.

"Just a toy box" with your attention to quality as always 👍

What we don't do for our critters and then "expect" them to show appreciation by doing something simple like keeping their toys in the box.

If only!
well it's in the family room so it had to look nice. in the pic it shows it's about half full, now it's full !

At least you'll have a new place to look for your car keys and missing socks 😀
Nice box, well made from stock inventory as there's no such thing as scrap in a woodshop.
pottz.
Wow!!!! Thats a Beauty!!!
Great work.  Looks really nice with the Dog's Name and the dove tailed joints.
A work of art!!!
Is the sign kit difficult to use?
Regards......Cliff.

thanks guys. no the the sign kit is very simple. you just snap the letters you want together then rout them out.

Simple box but the dovetails and lettering look great.
Nicely done.
(Maloof finish for the dog?  Not, quick lacquer job from me.  lol )

Figuring out how to do something you have never done is what makes a good challenge.

Nice....I'd make one for the girls but they move them constantly!

Sweet box. I’m sure “Sadona” loves you all the more Pottzy.  Any particular dog drool resistant finish recommendations?
And you can forget her putting her toys back. Hell, I don’t put my toys back half the time…. ; )

If I didn’t laugh at myself, I’d lose my mind.

bent-sorry ill call ya next time !
mike-yeah i hear ya,sadona probably would if she could !
rcc-just the maloof finish which has held up for 4 years now ! the wife wont allow dog toys all over the house.

the wife wont allow dog toys all over the house.
Same here. Nothing like trying to creep around the house in the dark, being stealthy, only to step on a wet squeaky toy.

She also freaks out when she sees "Squirrel" floating on his back in the dog water.
thanks guys. splint, oh my god man that would freak my wife out !
