Hold onto our hats here it is! I give you "The LBD Gazebo Box" 9mm MDF in honour of our MDF guru Alex. ...bang bang!
Pretty basic build, the original container was a little worst for wear! Cut four strips 1.2M x 150mm x 9 mm and two ends 150mm x 132mm Glue them all together
Try to ignore the depression, (very odd) I have a ticket with LBD for an explanation! leave it overnight to set Sand to 180G apply a coat of sanding sealer Profile the edges with a 1/2" roundover bit. do some touch up sanding.
Cut the lid off. This is done on the table saw with the blade slightly lower than the material thickness. then raised in areas to cut right through or just leave a thin section holding both parts in place to preventing collapsing. Then slit open with a box cutter and then trimmed the feathers away Add four alignment and reinforcing Pegs and hey presto or is hey Festo! its finished. wow everything even fits. wack the lid on! You might notice the quadrant piece beside the box, it was used to stop it collapsing while being glued up. Add a strap on and its finished, all ready for its trip to cockroach land for laser customising!
2 x half days and overnight Glue ...how good is that
