Mantle clock 1

A Christmas present from some years ago that I made from a friend.

Its an amalgam of ideas from classic bracket clock cases of bygone times. It uses a Hermle ting tang pendulum movement. Hence the reason for the small front window to see the pendulum, and the brass frets on the sides to let out the ting-tang sound from the two small bells.

The case is Vavona veneered marine ply with king wood bandings.  The base and pediment are walnut.
Thanks for looking.
WOW HOLY 💩💩💩 WOW !!!!!

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Beautiful clock, the veneer is wonderful and a great combination with the brass. Well done.

Beautiful clock! Those handles are quite interesting. I could see using them on some box projects. Where did you find them?
Steve.  I now get almost all my project hardware off AliExpress.com Yes is Chinese but they have absolutely everything at cheapo prices and minimal postage.  Just type in Lion Head handles.  You'll find probably a 100 stores selling the same thing so you have to do a bit of careful researching to find out who is the cheapest with postage.  Happy hunting!
