Lecturn I made last year for a friend and local minister. He requested the top to be level, without an angle.

Very elegant design, book matched base, dowel tenons, and wedges on the upper mortise. A nice touch with the bevel on the lowers side of the top. Well done.

What I really admire here is your dedication to work tirelessly on the lecturn and still sand every nook and cranny end grain to perfection!
My finger hurt just looking at it.
Love the ebony wedges.   Outstanding work all around on this one.
Wow! The detail here is impressive! Is the Celtic pattern on the cross painted on?
After looking at your bookcase I'm suspecting the pattern is inlaid...
Steve, it’s black dyed veneer inlaid into the walnut.

Beautiful detail. Nice to carry the ebony look throughout the dark walnut. Subtle, but still very attractive.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Steve, here’s some progress pics

Thanks for the extra info. That is excellent inlay work.
