Note: I added a picture of the original drawing on the barrel lid just to freshen up the post.

So, here is the story. A friend of mine put a wine cave/cellar under his house, yes he had lots of room. He asked me help drill some holes in some wine keg slats. He came over and the lid was left behind. He asked if I could do something cool with it to hang in his wine cave. This is what I came up with. It did not fit in the CNC so I had to burn it by hand.

I am not much of a wood burner. I think I used one once a few years ago so I am a beginner at best. Lots of mistakes and open grain oak did me no favors.

Overall I am pleased and so was he and his wife.

The last photo is the cellar with the lid on the far wall.  Best photo I had.

Thanks for stopping in.
Nice job! Those are a big item out here near wine country. That one is nice!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Nicely done, and fitting for a great looking room. Well done.

id say you did a great job on it.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

He should be very pleased with that.  I recently upgraded my wood burner that my wife gave me 20 year or more ago.  Want to true using it.
I have the other barrel lid.  Just not sure what to burn on it.
A perfect decoration - nice job!
