Gun Cabinet

This is my oak gun cabinet with raised panel doors and an ammo drawer on the bottom. I originally made it rectangular from the side but it looked too boxy and I did not use the extra space in front of the guns so I took my skillsaw and tapered the sides and added the trim to match the angles.
It has locks on the drawer and door.

It is stained with Zar #120 Teak Natural stain and finished with polyurethane.

My only regret is that the drawer is not on ball bearing full extension slides because the ammo is heavy!!.

Really nice Jim.  I like the door, and the fact that it locks.  Very Useful and well done!

Thanks Dave and Larry!!

Here is a recent shot with the Henry Golden Boy in there. it just made it with the Vortex scope on it.

It now holds a sabre in the red sleeve.  One unseen- a Remington Auto loader 22 LR, a Mossberg 410, an RWS .177 pellet rifle,a Browning 12 ga autoloader, a Winchester Model 94 in  30-30,A Marlin autoloader  in 22LR and a Henry Golden Boy in 22 Mag.

Great cabinet Jim, the raised panels are a nice feature with the angled front. Nice to have a lock on there too.  Well done.

Hi Tom, at first it was square but I did not like the boxy look so I tapered it!!
Hi Dave, Yes Henry has a real smooth action - even in a 45-70 Much nice than my Winchester.
