Pegs and Jokers Games

I had an order for a Pegs and Jokers game so I made 2 while I was at it. One set is red oak and the other set is hickory. This varied from my original set so I had to make new steel drill templates for these. The boards are joined with brass pegs and bushings for durability. The game pegs are made from copper plated weld studs with beads epoxied on the top. I added storage for the pegs on the top of each game board and made a drill fixture for that op.. They can be hooked with 4 or 6 boards as shown.. I have more process shots below. I made a holding fixture for cutting off the pegs to length and an holding fixture for drilling all the beads so the heads fit snug in them ans the hoes were too sloppy for the beg body. Game boxes are next.

Made the game interesting.    Never played it so I looked it up.
Your boards made me do it.    Haha   Nice boards and like the procedure to make the holes.
Well done.

Steel template... guessing you plant to make a swag of them.  Like your use of brass fittings.

Is there a version for a 1 player who hasn't got any friends and family refuses to speak to it... I mean him... I mean her.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Nice work, well thought out with the template to help expedite mass production.
Beautiful , so cute....Again...amaizing process...thanks!!

Looks good and very handy! Don't know the game but it is very similar to what we call "Mens erger je niet" (man do not worry).

Thank you all for the nice comments. It is so nice to be back in my shop where I can do better work than in our winter wood shop in Arizona.

Hi Alex. The game for one is called Peg the joker!! The steel template helped to get 12 boards the same and now I can make a swag more.............

Jim,

Absolutely Great work on the Pegs & Jokers.  Lots of folks in AZ play it.  Shop has patterns for the boards but not steel like you have.

Thanks, Dave. I had a made a wooden template in the Az shop for the game I made there. But I changed the pattern a bit for these new boards and  will use it for any future ones. I made this template on the mill so the spacing is right on.

Another game I have never heard of.  What you did looks great and thank for the build pictures.  Must look this game up!
Thanks Scrappie. It is a fun game. I'll attach the rules below. We play up to 6 players and use 3 decks of cards.

https://gamerules.com/rules/pegs-and-jokers/

We have a slight change to our rules. A  9 can move 9 spaces forward or split with some moving forward and some moving backward. and  a Jack moves 11 spaces, a queen moves 12 spaces and a king moves 13 spaces.
