Floating top tables

These are 2 floating top tables I built for a friend. Both have 3/4" walnut tops. The framework is ash.
The tall one is used at the end of a couch and the short one is a coffee table. I used biscut joinery for the tops and mortice and tenon for the frame. The legs are tapered 2 sides. The finish is 3 coats of poly. The walnut tops were rough cut boards I cut from my mom’s property and had sawed and then dried for a year.

Looks nice. I really like that you take your own lumber. That’s something I want to do.

Those are pretty nice. Really nice look.

I need to create something!

Just about everything I build starts with rough lumber I get locally. I do all the machine work to get it to the finished product you see.
