Desktop remote control organizer

This is essentially a copy of a project from 2016.

About 12"x12"x5", 1/4" red oak. Drawer face is juniper.
Finish: Fumed to even out colors, Danish oil, satin poly, wax.

Not much to say other than the previous version has been a hit for storing all the crap that clutters a table in the den.
Decided to make a second and place it in the gallery booth for someone else in need.

Sized around a standard tissue box for the large central opening. The rear slot works for a tablet and e-reader, row for remote controls, bigger spaces for eye glass cases, pens and other junk. Shallow front sections can hold even more junk, plus a small drawer for, you guessed it, more junk. 🤠

Made from some 1/4" oak, simple build with shallow dados, much like the trays I make for jewelry boxes. I hate making those so I thought I'd learn to love it by going all out. 😱

Requires a lot of careful setup and measuring so everything can fit together for glueing. Even the bottom has the matching dados.

The drawer front is re-sawn juniper from the firewood pile, just wanted to break up the monotony of oak!

Thanks for checking it out!

Splint,

Great project.  A place for everything and everything in its place. (a Shaker motto)

Pretty cool and well done.

Petey

Thanks Petey!
At least it keeps stuff from rolling off onto the floor and under the chairs. 🤔
Splint...That is very cool.....and useful!  Well done, thanks for showing us.

Wow!!  Love organizers and this one is awesome!!
That’s a nice design, and it looks great! I like the juniper drawer front (and pull).
Nice job splint, I like anything that has to do with being organized. I seem to organize everything but my thoughts. 🤪

Thanks people!

who couldn't use more organization ?

Me for one, that's why I'm selling it! 🤠
Very nicely made and extremely functional. Great job!

Thanks Andy!
I cleaned out the "personal" one a made previously so I could take measurements. Scored about a $1.50 in loose change 😃
Damn how many remote controls do you have? Nice build looks great
Hmmm, TV, Stereo, DVD, Fire, Sat, plus about 10 other lesser used units 😱

 My living hell.😩
Handsome little rascal!

Thanks DL! Helps me keep my 💩 together!
I’m pretty sure I like the before pictures better than the after pictures.  😀 It’s a beautiful little organizer.  Too bad you have to put stuff in it.
That is a really nice project! Useful and good looking.
thanks Ross & Steve!

Good reason to sell it otherwise I'd probably need tp buy more junk to fill it Thinking about it, maybe to organize my collection of pulled pallet nails? 🤔

Cool caddy Splinter....

However, you could have saved a portune in timber if you just catered for the 'issues and another cubicle for a universal RC,

My initial caddy was too big to fit on the coffee table.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Had to dump out one of your #4.25x3 bronze alloy flat head screw jars for that eh?

Yeah, universal remote. Seems they always lack one device to control and need a mix if IR, BT, and wireless (700MHz) to cover the selection.
Nicely done! Love a good organizer…

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".
