i always make something for xmas for the book keepers at work. this year i had no ideas until i saw brian benhams boxes and decided that was it. ive seen these many times and always wanted to make some. bought a set of 10 on ebay for 100 bucks. the brass coin slot covers came from amazon. the woods were all scraps. rubber bumpers on the bottom. finish is one coat of GF arm r seal semi gloss and 3 coats of spray can semi gloss laquer. woods used were, mahogany, bubinga, wenge, maple, walnut and purple heart. logo coins on each one done with a laser.
dowels on the edges made from bamboo skewers. coin slots routed on the multi router.

1. How do they extricate the loot out of those lobster pots if they lose the key? 2. Not being familiar with your Yankee postage, does that dial serve a purpose. 3. How does the locking m,mechanism work? Is it simply a lever slide across the front... no recess? What about the hinges...

WOW! what an inspiration... I have one of those P.O. door things. Been going to do something with it for years. A box is good. Thanks. Really like yours.
Dan B commented 13 minutes ago new Those came out great. Nice selection of wood and really clean looking. Nice of you to provide a thank you to those around you.
dan you learn who to take care of in a company. the ladies that do my book keeping, the guys in the garage that keep my trucks and forklift running and the IT geeks that keep my computers, phones and copiers running. it pays big time !
