Commemorative Cribbage Boards

These are several cribbage boards I made that were commemorative gifts to several of my grandchildren based on trips that my wife and I made with them.  They were all made in a similar book-style fashion using various hardwoods (Maple, Limba and Cherry shown here), and they all have laminated pictures from our trips with them which I embedded on the face boards where the game is played.  The holes were drilled out (for a two-player game) using a store-bought cribbage template from Rockler.  Inside the boards I routed out space for storage of cards and pegs.   Magnets hold the metal pegs in place, and I oftentimes use a magnet to keep the board from inadvertently opening.

That's a nice way to remember your trips. The magnet for the pegs is a nice idea as well.
A lot of folks like some kind of commemorative theme.  Doing these by inlay or marquetry (especially when you don't have a CNC or laser engraver) is very time-consuming, and so the embedded pics are a good shortcut.
