Mountain man from a cedar log

This was a log I found in the wood in northern Arizona. It is about 2.5 feet tall. I thought it looked like a mountain man, so I carved him out of the log. he still sits atop in a cubby hole in our living room wall.

My, oh my—that’s great!
Nicely done!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Detail is A+, like how you described it, setting the man free!

Thank you all for the nice comments. The picture is bad cause the camera was not that great. I also never take that many photos of my work I guess because I do so many carvings.
It sure is nice to see what is hidden in that log.  Nice work, Jerry!!!!!!!!!!

I'm home and setting up the laser. I'll take a laptop in next week to get it ready for designing on.

Glad to see you are home safe. I have put some of my works on here. you should see the one donna is working on. I did the cutout for her and some of the shaping, but she is doing the rest of the work and paining. Should be done in a week. Have my laser about ready to go. Just need to download the program and start printing. I just got 6 ea 1/8" ply from X-tool that are 12X24 so I can cut them up or do a larger work.
