Broken Promis

This was another piece of cedar I found in the Arizona high country. It stands about 15" tall. I saw this piece of wood and could almost see this Indian's face in it. You know, those things you just can see from a raw piece of wood or stump. I did not really carve much of this, just made the face come out of the wood. added the wood feathers and the fur to give him more corrector. Sorry I only many times take one photo of my work. The split down the face shows the broken promises.

I hate it when the wood starts talking to me, frightens me, but ya just have to go where the voices tell ya to go.

Nice work. The above line is pretty much tongue in cheek, but I truly believe folks when they say it talked to them, or they saw the finished project in it. I've seen/heard it enough it has to be a thing.
For me at least it does. I use to walk the washes out in the desert and see rocks that talked to me and wanted me to paint something on them. I did many paintings on rocks.
Great to learn how you find your materials (or do they find you?)

All the added color and materials really make these unique, really brings out personality,
Coming from all of you, this is a real complement and thanks for all your kind words.
That is an awesome piece!
